Demi Bisa Sekolah, Rahma Banting Tulang Jadi
Buruh Cuci Keliling
AMBON, KOMPAS.com - Berbekal harapan dan doa, Rahma
Ren’el memulai aktivitasnya sebagai buruh cuci pakaian keliling selepas pulang
sekolah.
mengharapkan belas kasihan warga demi memenuhi kebutuhan hidup.
saudaranya setelah sang ibu Fatimah Ren’el meninggal dunia sejak tahun 2007
silam.
memilih menjadi buruh cuci pakaian keliling.
Kepergian sang ibu tercinta
delapan tahun silam memang tak pernah dibayangkan oleh Rahma, namun apa mau
dikata takdir telah menentukan garis hidup keluarganya. Ibunya meninggal dunia
Dia bercita-cita jika
diberikan kesempatan kuliah dia ingin menjadi seorang guru agar dapat
membimbing adik-adiknya kelak.

AMBON, KOMPAS.com - Armed with hope
and prayer, Rahma Ren'el started her activity as a laundry worker after
traveling home from school. Despite heavy work, but it did not dampen the
intention of students of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Ambon to continue to struggle
while expecting the mercy of citizens in order to meet the needs of life.
Rahma, who just turned 16 years old is willing to work hard to
meet the needs of schools and also to support three younger siblings due to the
economic needs of a very heavy family.
At a very young age, Rahma willing to
become the backbone of the family and the support of her three siblings
after the mother Fatimah Ren'el died since 2007 ago.
The life of Rahma and her three younger siblings became
more and more uncertain when her father, Arif Ren'el, who worked as a boatman
chose to leave their lives and remarry another woman after the departure of her
beloved mother. At that moment, Rahma began to think to survive by choosing to be a laundry
worker.
"I had to work like ther after my mother died and my
father chose to leave us alone," Rahma said when met at her parents'
modest house on Saturday last week.
Rahma along with her three younger siblings Yasin Ren'el
(9), Hidayat Ren'el (10) and Salam Ren'el (12) have been living in a very
modest 4x6 meter house without lighting and only grounded in the area Wara,
Batu Merah Village. Rahma is not the eldest of Hidayat, Salam and Yasin. The
four brothers also have an older sister named Gamar Ren'el (20) who is
currently living in an IAIN Ambon student dormitory after graduating as a
student and obtaining a poor scholarship aimed at the mission of the campus.
Previously, Gamar also worked as a laundry worker washing
around and could take care of children for the sake of helping the lives of her
younger siblings. However, the past year, she no longer lives with Rahma and
her three other siblings after living in a student dormitory on the IAIN campus
of Ambon. Not only to work hard to meet the needs of eating and drinking her three
siblings, Rahma also had to try to save from the results of her work to buy
uniforms, and notebooks for Hidayat and Yasin who are still sitting in fourth
grade. Therefore, every time he gets a wage from the work he did not forget to
fill some of her income for the needs of both her sister's school.
Meanwhile, Salam who once attended junior high school
Muhamadiyah now drop out due to limited cost. Salam was forced to quit school
because he could not afford to pay the tuition fee charged to him.
Her two younger siblings, Hidayat and Yasin, are a bit
more fortunate to still go to school in a special school that houses poor
children. Schools located just a few meters from their homes that condition is
very alarming because there are only 3 booths with a pasilitas space is very
limited. The departure of her beloved mother eight years ago was never imagined by
Rahma, but what to say destiny has determined the lifeline of her family. Her
mother died at home while she was carrying her youngest sister who was also
recalled by the Almighty. Limitations in the cost of making the mother can not
be taken to the hospital at the time.
"When mama died soon father chose to marry and leave
us, carrying the goods that are in the house," he said.
Currently, Rahma has stepped on the 3rd grade bench and
will soon be graduating from school. He aspired if given the opportunity to
college he wanted to be a teacher in order to guide her younger brothers later.
