This film is such semi biographical story from Eminem, as we know Eminem is the popular white skin rapper, his rap is so genius. This film is tell everything about A young rapper, struggling with every aspect of his life, wants to make it big but his friends and foes make this odyssey of rap, harder than it may seem. Rap is a type of popular music of US black origin in which words are recited rapidly and rhythmically over a prerecorded, typically electronic instrumental backing usually rap is to strike with a series of rapid audible blows, especially in order to attract attention. Rap lyrics are usually using a harsh word. In this film rap is makes to be competition by the club. The competitions using rap for mocking the rivals and the rivals reply back. Rapping first gained popularity in the U.S. in the 1970s as a kind of street art, especially among African American teenagers. But it wasn’t until 1979, when the Sugarhill Gang released their breakaway hit, ‘Rapper’s Delight, that record producers took notice of this emerging musical genre.
Commonly rapper is comes from black skin race, Thousands of years ago in Africa “griots”, where village story tellers who played basic handmade instruments while they told stories of their family and local current events. This style of talking while music is playing is rap music as we know it at its root form. The griot is still a major form of communication in Africa still to this day. This griot tradition carried over when Africans were captured against their will, transported to America & forced into slavery. One way they would cope with the tremendous amount of pain & heartbreak of slavery would be to sing. While they were working in the fields they would often sing using “call to answer”. One leader would call out a certain part of a song and the rest of the slaves would answer with the next line. In modern times performing artists call this crowd participation. In the past, there is discrimination between white skin and black skin. People who had a black skin considered as the lower level economy class and they use rap as their media for curse and moan. So, the writer thinks that is the reason why rap is using vulgar and harsh language.
The word which they use in rap lyric maybe it represent symbol of their culture. Because culture is complex thing which includes knowledge, belief, art, morals, law, custom, and any other capabilities and habits as a member of society. But when we  speak of society we refer to the pattern of social interactions and relationships between individuals and group, rap battle show how they interaction between one and others.
Often a society will occupy a territory, be capable of reproducing itself and share a culture. But for many large-scale, modern societies it may make more sense to say that several cultures coexist (not always harmoniously) within the society. Culture emphasises the way that social roles and relationships shape the way we see and give meaning to the world, whereas cultural relativism stresses the way that habitual, taken-for-granted ways of thought, as expressed in speech and language, direct our understandings. All cultures are reproduced in specific circumstances; ideas and values are interpreted and understood in the light of local condition. The writer think that rap lyric such their media to have a communication, they know how to interpret the lyric and the know how to convey the meaning because language has been used in relation to class, race and ethnicity and gender. How we speak is very impportant because it shows who we are. For example like the differences between how the UK people using RP ( Receive Pronouciation )  speak and how the black skin race speak using BEV (Black English Vernacular) as a poor language.
This is example of rap lyric from 8 mile by B rabbit in final competition:
[Rabbit]
Now everybody from the 313
Put your muthafuckin' hands up and follow me
Everybody from the 313, put your muthafuckin' hands up
Look Look

Now while he stands tough
Notice that this man did not have his hands up
This Free World got you gassed up
Now who's afraid of the Big Bad Wolf

As we can see there are so much mocking word such as : fuck, motherfucker, shit, bitches, etc. That word is always being a part of rap lyric. From that lyric is proven that rap lyric is using a harsh and slang word, and the writer assume that rap is such the media for them to complain about his life because the lyric tell the story about what he is going through his live. Black skin race think if the lyric of rap must comes from the experience of the rapper to make the lyric original. Moreover, there is a jargon which is said “the lyric must be real”.
Mostly lyric of rap just come naturally (autodidact), i think just genius people who can do rap because they have to string up the word which is match with the music and have the same rhyme. Furthermore, rap lyric tell about the simple thing using slang languages. The rap lyrics are using slang and harsh language it shows the lower caste of someone, because language shows the spoken attitude. Rapping is very competitive, you will most likely be brutally insulted by those who you are competing against, as well as the masses if you show any sign of vulnerability or lack of effort within your music.
Actually rap battle is insulted your competing against. The rappers goal is to make memorable lyric, so that when someone listens to the song they will want to go back and listen to it again later. As a result the rapper Tell a story with their song, this keeps the listener engaged. It is easy to for one to lose interest in a song if it is focused on a bunch of random generic topics. Culture shapes rap because rap comes from and grown in black skin race so the language using BEV as a poor language because so many slang and harsh word in it.
In the film shows that there are a scene when the actor mocking someone by shows their middle finger. The setting of place in 8 mile is in the dirty city which is so many vandalism at the building. And this sign represent their culture to communicate.
