Socialization
is defined as a lifelong process of how an individual study habits that include
ways of life, values, and social norms contained in the community in order to
be accepted by society.
By type,
socialization is divided into two categories: primary socialization (in the
family) and secondary socialization (in the community). According to Goffman
both processes take place in a total institution, namely the residence and
place of work. In both of these institutions, there are a number of individuals
in the same situation, apart from the general public within a certain period of
time, together lead a life, and set up formally.
>
Primary Socialization
Peter L.
Berger and Luckmann define as the primary socialization socialization
individual first lived as a child to learn to become a member of the community
(family). Primary socialization takes place when children aged 1-5 years or
when the child does not go to school. Children begin to recognize members of
the family and the family environment. Gradually he began to be able to distinguish
itself with others around her family.
In this
stage, the role of the people closest to the child becomes very important
because a child has made limited interaction patterns in it. The color of the
child's personality will be greatly determined by the color of the personality
and the interaction that occurs between children and immediate family members.

Secondary socialization
Secondary
socialization is a socialization process continued after the introduction of
primary socialization of individuals into specific groups in society. One form
is resocialization and desociation In the process of resocialization, one is
given a new identity. While in the process of desosialisation, someone
experiencing 'revocation' old identity.

of the community members. These norms are sometimes distinguished between
norms;
- Norms
that govern personal that includes norms of trust that aims to human conscience
clean.
- Norms
that govern personal relationships, including the rules of politeness and the
rule of law and has the objective to bring men to behave well in the social
life and aims to achieve a peaceful life.
The social
role of students and youth in the community
Students
are a group of students who can be regarded as a well-educated group, being
able to pursue higher education, while others in the same age are still
struggling with poverty and cost constraints in access to education, especially
higher education.
The
predicate can certainly synonymous that students are intellectuals, who have a
strong scientific basis in accordance with the majors are taken of each
student, which means students' academic ability can be relied upon as one of
the country's assets. However, students also constitute a social entity that
always interact with people from all kinds of layers, so in this case the
students were required to play an active role in the social life of society.
Youth is
the backbone of society. The older generation have the limitations to develop
the nation. The younger generation should take a decisive role in this regard. With
fiery spirit and a steely determination and vision and a willingness to accept
changes the dynamic youth become a motor for community development. History
proves, that the change is almost always driven by young people. Youth Pledge,
Proclamation, Anti-PKI, the birth of a new order, even the fall of dictator
Suharto events of the presidential throne entirely driven by young people. Similarly
young people who always provide critical feedback to pongahnya power.

the participation of the younger generation, it is difficult to achieve
development goals. This is not only because the youth is a society which is
quite large, but without the excitement and creativity of them, long-term
development can lose his balance.
If the youth of today apart from the issue of the society, it is difficult to materialize future leaders who can lead his own people.
